Written Community Recognition Statement
Mr RYAN PARK: (KeiraMinister for Health, Minister for Regional Health, and Minister for the Illawarra and the South Coast)—"I want to extend my congratulations to the talented students and staff from Balgownie Public School for their outstanding participation and achievements at the recent NSW South Coast Region Tournament of Minds NSW final. I am particularly proud to acknowledge the team 'Maggie Swoopers', who participated in the Primary STEM category. Although their device didn't quite work as planned, their overall presentation was highly entertaining, and the team members' performative strengths shone through. This tournament is a truly unique program that encourages students to think creatively and collaboratively to solve demanding, open-ended challenges. The efforts of all the Balgownie Public School teams reflect the high quality of education and the remarkable creativity we have in our community"
Maira Gee - Parent of the Balgownie Public School community

"We heard about Balgownie Public School’s outstanding reputation before we moved to the area, and it has certainly lived up to our expectations. From the moment we enrolled our children, we've felt nothing but warmth and support. The leadership from the principal is exceptional, and the teachers are not only highly competent but also deeply committed to the success and well-being of every student.

My husband and I do not feel any anxiety when it comes to new school years or changes in classrooms, as we trust that our children are always surrounded by wonderful teachers who have their best interests at heart. We're so grateful to be part of such a fantastic school community".

Our Mural at the Chalmers Street Visitors Entrance

We have a wonderful new mural, at the Chalmers Street main entrance, to welcome all our visitors through our gates. This mural was completed by Artist, Emily Gatwood, after a wonderful working collaboration with our school leadership team and our Aboriginal students. The students reflected on what aspects of Bally were important to be reflected in the mural Emily was able to capture some of what makes us so special and reflect this in the finished product. We are very happy with the final piece! Thank you Emily Gatwood.
